Lynae Gameplay and Playstyle

Lynae is a Spectro Pistols Sub-DPS and Buffer, specializing in Basic Attack DMG and stacking multiple team buffs. Her gameplay revolves around cycling between two modes, Optical Sampling Stage and Kaleidoscopic Parade, to build resources and deliver her buffs.

In Optical Sampling Stage, Lynae builds Overflow through Basic Attacks, Resonance Skill, and Dodge Counters. Once full, she holds Normal Attack to convert Overflow into Lumiflow and enter Kaleidoscopic Parade. Her Intro Skill Time to Show Some Colors! inflicts Photochromic Flux on targets and instantly restores 100 Overflow, making it the fastest way into her rotation.

In Kaleidoscopic Parade, Lynae skates and builds Lumiflow by moving. Spending Lumiflow on Polychrome Leap jumps builds up to 3 True Color stacks. At 3 stacks, she can cast Basic Attack - Visual Impact, her hardest-hitting move, which also grants all nearby Resonators 40 Tune Break Boost for 30s.

Before combat, players choose a Resonance Mode via a toggle in her Forte page - this simply determines which debuff Photochromic Flux applies. Tune Rupture Mode inflicts Tune Rupture - Shifting, which enables an extra instance of damage whenever any teammate lands a Tune Break. Tune Strain Mode inflicts Tune Strain - Shifting, which increases Lynae's own DMG against the target and further scales the DMG of any Tune Strain Response Resonator in the team, both scaling with Tune Break Boost. Choose based on your team: Tune Rupture for most general teams, and Tune Strain when running a dedicated Tune Strain DPS.

Lynae's biggest strength is how many team buffs she stacks in one short rotation. Her Resonance Liberation Prismatic Overblast gives the whole team +24% DMG for 30s. Her Outro Skill Let's Hit the Road! grants the next Resonator +15% All DMG and +25% Resonance Liberation DMG for 14s. Her signature weapon Spectrum Blaster adds another layer - each time she applies a Tune Shifting debuff via Basic Attacks, the whole team gains +8% DMG up to 3 times for a potential +24% bonus. Her best Echo set stacks on top of all this, granting the incoming Resonator up to 30% ATK and an extra 10% DMG Bonus on swap. All of these can be active at the same time, making Lynae one of the most buff-efficient Sub-DPS Resonators in the game.

Lynae Best Weapons

Lynae is a Spectro Pistols Sub-DPS and Buffer whose damage primarily comes from Basic Attack DMG. When choosing the best weapons for Lynae in Wuthering Waves, prioritize those that provide Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and ATK.

Weapons that boost Basic Attack DMG or provide additional team buffs are especially valuable for maximizing Lynae's output. Her signature weapon Spectrum Blaster is her best-in-slot option, as it increases ATK and Basic Attack DMG Bonus on hit, and stacks up to +24% team-wide DMG each time she applies a Tune Shifting debuff via Basic Attacks. For players without her signature weapon, Static Mist is a strong 5-star alternative that boosts the incoming Resonator's ATK by 10% on Outro, while Phasic Homogenizer provides Lynae herself a +20% All-Attribute DMG Bonus after any Tune Break in the team. Lynae Best Echo Set

Pact of Neonlight Leap is Lynae's best Echo set for her buffer role. The 2-Piece Bonus grants +10% Spectro DMG, while the 5-Piece Bonus grants the incoming Resonator up to 30% ATK on Outro cast — 15% base plus an additional 15% scaling off Lynae's Tune Break Boost. Her main Echo Hyvatia adds another 10% All-Attribute DMG Bonus to the next Resonator on top of this, making every Outro swap a significant damage spike for the Main DPS.

For players who want to maximize Lynae's personal damage over her buffing role, Rite of Gilded Revelation is her best DPS-focused set. The 5-Piece Bonus stacks Spectro DMG through Basic Attacks and grants 40% Basic Attack DMG Bonus on Liberation cast, directly amplifying her hardest-hitting moves in Kaleidoscopic Parade.

For early game players without either set, Moonlit Clouds is a reliable alternative that provides 22.5% ATK to the incoming Resonator on Outro, keeping her buffing role functional while farming for Pact of Neonlight Leap.

Once the initial attack lands on any enemy, the current character regains 10 Resonance Energy. If the current character uses their Outro Skill within the next 15s, the next character’s damage dealt will be boosted by 12% for 15s. CD: 20s

Lynae Best Team Comps

Lynae performs best with Resonance Liberation DPS characters, as her Outro directly multiplies their biggest damage windows. Outside of that, she fits into a wide range of teams thanks to the sheer volume of buffs she provides across her Liberation, Outro, signature weapon, and Echo set, making her a strong pick in virtually any team that can benefit from consistent DMG Amplification and ATK buffs.

NOTE: These are all of Lynae's recommended team compositions. Shorekeeper and Verina are strong alternatives for the third slot in place of Mornye in most teams, with Mornye and Shorekeeper delivering similar results across the board. The exception is the Tune Strain team, where Mornye is the preferred pick as her kit has direct synergy with Tune Break mechanics. For the third slot in Negative Status teams, Chisa is the stronger pick as she directly contributes to the team's debuff synergy. Suisui is a strong alternative but note that each Negative Status (DoT) type works differently - make sure your team's debuffs align with what Suisui's kit specifically supports before slotting her in.

Lynae is now immune to interruptions during Basic Attack - Polychrome Leap and Basic Attack - Visual Impact.
During Optical Sampling Stage, after staying in a non-combat state for 2s, restore 120 points of Overflow every 2s.
Reason: A solid first node that meaningfully boosts Polychrome Leap damage and extends Spray Paint uptime, keeping Photochromic Flux active on enemies longer even after Lynae swaps out. The interruption immunity on Polychrome Leap and Visual Impact is a welcome quality-of-life improvement that makes her rotation more consistent in difficult content.

Outro Skill gains the following effect:
Casting Outro Skill now additionally grants the incoming Resonator 25% All DMG Amplification for 14s or until the Resonator is switched out.
Reason: A massive upgrade to both Lynae's personal damage and her team buff value. Adding 25% All DMG Amplification to her Outro on top of the existing 15% All DMG and 25% Resonance Liberation DMG from her base kit makes every swap significantly stronger. One of the best stopping points for players investing in her as a buffer.

S3: For One Brilliant Moment

Effect: The DMG Multiplier of Basic Attack - Visual Impact and Basic Attack - Iridescent Splash is increased by 90%.
While Lynae is in combat, when Lumiflow is at least 120 points, gain 1 stack of Premixed Hue every 1s, up to 25 stacks. Each stack of Premixed Hue increases the Spectro DMG Bonus of Additive Color by 55%. No Premixed Hue is gained while casting Additive Color. When Additive Color ends, remove all stacks of Premixed Hue. Lynae loses a stack of Premixed Hue every 0.5s when Lumiflow is below 120 points.
While Lynae is out of combat, with at least 120 points of Lumiflow, gain 1 stack of Premixed Hue every 0.5s; when Lumiflow is below 120 points, lose 1 stack of Premixed Hue every 1s.
Reason: Directly boosts her two biggest personal damage moves by 90%, making a noticeable impact on her overall DPS contribution. The Premixed Hue mechanic adds a scaling Spectro DMG Bonus that rewards staying in Kaleidoscopic Parade and building Lumiflow consistently.

S4: Shadows of a Wind Racer

Rating: ★★ (Ok)
Effect: ATK is increased by 20%.
Reason: A straightforward personal ATK increase. Useful for boosting her damage output but offers no improvements to her team buffs or rotation.

S5: Visions of a Future Unbound

Rating: ★★★ (Good)
Effect: The DMG Multiplier of Resonance Liberation - Prismatic Overblast is increased by 70%.
Reason: A significant boost to her Liberation damage, making Prismatic Overblast hit considerably harder. Since the Liberation's +24% team DMG buff value doesn't change with skill level, this is purely a personal damage upgrade that strengthens her Sub-DPS contribution.

S6: Painted in My True Color

Effect: Each time Kaleidoscopic Parade - Graffiti Blast or Kaleidoscopic Parade - Mid-air Heavy Attack is cast, Lynae gains 1 stack of Color of Soul, up to 3 stacks. Each stack of Color of Soul increases the DMG the target takes from Basic Attack - Iridescent Splash and Basic Attack - Visual Impact by 30%. After casting Basic Attack - Iridescent Splash or Basic Attack - Visual Impact, all stacks of Color of Soul are removed.
Casting Basic Attack - Polychrome Leap resets the charges of Kaleidoscopic Parade - Mid-air Heavy Attack.
Lynae is immune to interruptions, and DMG taken is reduced by 30% during Kaleidoscopic Parade - Mid-air Heavy Attack.
Lynae now stays in Kaleidoscopic Parade after casting Outro Skill - Let's Hit the Road!.
The Lumiflow upper limit is increased from 120 to 360. At the max limit, Lynae's roller skating speed further increases.
If Intro Skill is cast during Kaleidoscopic Parade, restore 120 points of Lumiflow.
Reason: Completely transforms Lynae's playstyle by massively expanding her Lumiflow capacity and keeping her in Kaleidoscopic Parade after swapping, enabling extended aerial combos and significantly higher personal damage.
