Xuanling Gameplay and Playstyle
Xuanling is a Havoc Sword resonator who functions as a Main DPS, specializing in Heavy Attack DMG and Havoc Bane application. Her gameplay revolves around cycling between two stances, Azure Sword Stance and Feather Sword Stance, to build resources and unleash powerful Heavy Attacks.
Xuanling builds Melody through her Basic Attacks in both stances. Once Melody is depleted, she unlocks Sword Stance Flow, which switches her stance, restores all Melody, and grants 1 Azure Plume. Each Sword Stance Flow also grants Bated Breath, which boosts the next Heavy Attack - Azure Sword Stance's Crit. DMG by 125%. With 2 Azure Plumes, she can unleash her powerful Heavy Attack - Azure Sword Stance or Heavy Attack - Feather Sword Stance, both dealing massive Havoc DMG.
Her Resonance Liberation: Hush of a Thousand Voices consumes all Melody to deal an enormous burst of Havoc DMG, applies maximum Havoc Bane stacks to all targets hit, and grants the Voice upon Voice state, which causes the next Sword Stance Flow to summon Shadow of Xuanling for an additional hit.
Xuanling's damage is further amplified by Havoc Bane stacks. Her Inherent Skill: Unbroken Vow amplifies her damage by 10-12% per stack, and she can self-apply Havoc Bane through her Basic Attacks, Intro Skill, and Liberation without needing teammate support. When teammates also apply Havoc Bane, she builds Windbound stacks, eventually triggering Feather Release: Xuanling for an additional burst that applies 6 Havoc Bane stacks at once.

Xuanling Best Weapons
Xuanling is a Havoc Main DPS whose damage primarily comes from Heavy Attack DMG. When choosing the best weapons for Xuanling, prioritize those that provide CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK.
Weapons that increase Heavy Attack DMG or Havoc Bane synergy are especially valuable for maximizing Xuanling's DPS. Her signature weapon Azure of Heaven is her best-in-slot option. It grants All-Attribute DMG Bonus and directly amplifies Heavy Attack DMG while causing it to ignore a portion of the target's DEF when Havoc Bane is applied. For players without her signature weapon, Emerald Sentence and Emerald of Genesis are strong 5-star alternatives, while Red Spring is also a viable option for its stats. For 4-star options, Lumingloss and Fables of Wisdom are reliable picks that keep her damage competitive without premium weapons.

Since Xuanling consistently applies Havoc Bane throughout her rotation, she can reliably activate and maintain these bonuses.
For players without Song of Feathered Trace, Thread of Severed Fate is a strong alternative that boosts ATK by 20% and grants 30% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus upon inflicting Havoc Bane. Xuanling Best Team Comps
Xuanling performs best with teammates who can apply Havoc Bane or buff Heavy Attack DMG. For Sub-DPS slots, prioritize Resonators that amplify Heavy Attack DMG, provide Havoc DMG Bonus, or apply Havoc Bane independently. A dedicated healer or buffer in the third slot helps maintain uptime and pushes her overall damage output further. Regardless of team composition pairing Xuanling with supports that provide ATK, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, or Havoc DMG Bonus buffs will always enhance her effectiveness as a Havoc Main DPS.

Reason: Massively amplifies her Resonance Liberation damage and significantly increases Havoc Bane stack generation and cap, directly boosting her Unbroken Vow damage amplification. This is the best stopping point for most players and delivers the highest value per chain invested.
