Sunna

Sunna

For the first phase of Version 3.0, we have Velina, a powerful Wind Anomaly character who is not only the first ever Wind character, but also a crucial addition to the future of the Anomaly meta thanks to her unique interactions with other Attributes. Alongside Velina, Ye Shunguang makes a return. If you haven't already know, Ye Shunguang is currently the most recent Void Hunter character, with her debut being in Version 2.5. That title alone makes you realise she's an incredibly valuable character.

For the second phase of Version 3.0, we have Norma, a unique Fire Stun character who focuses on providing additional Chain Attacks to her teamates, while having an incredibly powerful daze application herself. Running alongside Norma is one of the Angels of Delusion, Sunna, an amazing Support who works with both Attack and Anomaly teams, and keeps getting better with new Ether Veil interactions.

Overall, you can see that this Version is especially tough with pulling decisions. Every Rate-up character is a powerhouse who will remain in the meta for a really long time. To alleviate this stress, we'll be going over the character details so you can decide on who you're needing the most.

Velina

velina

  • Role

Wind Anomaly/ Sub-DPS/ Support

  • Current Meta Role (Version 3.0)

In Version 3.0, Velina is an incredible Anomaly character who is deisgned to work with many existing Anomaly characters, as well as the upcoming Void Hunter—Ramielle, according to the developers themselves. Her Wind Attribute comes with unique Attribute Anomaly interactions that we have never seen before. Rather than triggering Disorders and overriding an Attribute Anomaly, Wind will remain unfazed for the entirety of its duration, regardless of how many additional Attribute Anomalies are inflicted on the target. This allows other Anomaly characters to shine on the battlefield without being interrupted. Characters with a strong connection to their Attribute Anomaly like Jane, who can trigger Critical hits with her Physical Anomaly, benefit from this tremendously.

  • Should You Pull For Velina?

If you're planning to "revive" old Anomaly characters and/or preparing for the upcoming Anomaly meta with the the new Void Hunter, Ramielle, coming up, Velina is a must-pull. Her uniqueness likely won't reappear for a long time.

However, if you don't find yourself taking a liking to the playstyle of Anomaly characters, Velina isn't for you. Alternatively, if the Anomaly characters you've invested in don't synergise well with Velina (i.e. Miyabi performing noticeably worse when Wind Anomaly is in effect due to the override of Disorders messing with her Core Ability), and you're not looking forward to replacing them soon, then Velina might not be a good addition to your account.

  • Final Verdict

PULL if you want to play the Anomaly meta or if you're getting Ramielle in future banners.

SKIP if Velina's playstyle doesn't appeal to you or if you have already invested in Miyabi.

Ye Shunguang

ysg

  • Role

Physical Attack/ Main-DPS

  • Current Meta Role (Version 3.0)

In Version 3.0, Ye Shunguang still holds up as an amazing DPS character owing to her Void Hunter title, with many players even considering her to be the current strongest DPS in ZZZ. Her Enlightened form allows her to deal damage as if the target's inside the Stun window, effectively removing the need for traditional Stunners. However, despite her tremendous strength, her team options is still very limited as of Version 3.0, with only a few characters synergising well with her, those being Zhao, Sunna, and Dialyn.

  • Should You Pull For Ye Shunguang?

If you're looking for a powerful DPS who can carry your account and clear endgame content with ease, Ye Shunguang is the perfect match for you. Her powerful attacks make enemies vanish in the blink of an eye. Not to mention, her Void Hunter title means she's exceptionally strong compared to other characters who share her role and likely will not be matched in the foreseeable future.

However, if you don't have Zhao, Sunna or Dialyn, you'll be having a hard time playing Ye Shunguang, as she's heavily reliant on her Enlightened form, which can only be used more frequently when you have access to characters who can activate Ether Veils consistently or someone who can provide additional uses of her Ultimate like Dialyn. If this increase in difficulty and decrease in performance make Ye Shunguang unappealing to you, then she's not for your account.

  • Final Verdict

PULL if you already have Zhao, Sunna or Dialyn.

SKIP if you don't have any of the aforementioned characters and don't plan on getting them on their reruns.

Norma

norma

  • Role

Fire Stun/ Support/ Debuffer

  • Current Meta Role (Version 3.0)

In Version 3.0, Norma is a unique Stun character who has the ability to trigger Chain Attacks outside of the Stun window. She excels at applying Daze and providing debuffs to the enemies. Her damage output is also not to be taken lightly. Despite being a Stun character, she hits quite hard.

  • Should You Pull For Norma?

If your account is in need of Stun characters, then Norma can fill that gap incredibly well. Her versatility and synergies with existing characters (i.e. Evelyn's hard-hitting Chain Attacks can now be activated more frequently throughout the fights, making her damage potential skyrocket) make her a great addition to any team that wants a Stunner.

However, if your account is already saturated with Stun characters like Dialyn, Jufufu, Lighter, etc then Norma's value will be significantly lower as her performance isn't much of a stand-out.

  • Final Verdict

PULL if you lack dedicated Stunners for Crit-based teams.

SKIP if you have already invested in two or more limited Stun characters on your account.

Sunna

sunna

  • Role

Physical Support/ Healer/ Ether Veil Specialist

  • Current Meta Role (Version 3.0)

In Version 3.0, Sunna is still a relatively new character, having debuted in 2.6. She's an amazing Support character who can work with both Attack characters and Anomaly characters. Her unique mechanic lies in the fact that she can activate Ether Veil very frequently and she can refresh her buffs and debuffs effortlessly. She is not a great addition to every account.

  • Should You Pull For Sunna?

If you already have Aria or Ye Shunguang, it's a no-brainer to pull Sunna as soon as possible, she's their best-in-slot and her value will only increase with each new character.

However, if you don't have any character that benefits from Ether Veils and already have a dedicated Support like Astra or Yuzuha, or if you don't have other Angels of Delusion characters, then Sunna might not be for you. She performs very similarly to Astra for general Attack teams and only work with Anomaly teams when there's another Angels of Delusion member in the squad.

  • Final Verdict

PULL if you want to strengthen Ether-Veil-reliant characters or if you're lacking a general Support.

SKIP if you already have Astra or Yuzuha and don't have other Angels of Delusion members.
