After a long Early Access journey, Palworld 1.0 officially launches on July 10, 2026, marking the game's biggest update to date. Rather than simply adding a handful of new Pals, Version 1.0 expands nearly every aspect of the game. Palworld 1.0 Release Date

Palworld Version 1.0 releases worldwide on July 10, 2026, for all currently supported platforms.

Instead of the typical content updates we’ve had during Early Access, it’s the game’s final release. Existing users can update their current save file and can keep their progress; however, Pocketpair does suggest a new save file if you’d like to play through the newly reworked progression and story.

Explore the World Tree and Sky Islands

The centerpiece of Version 1.0 is the long-awaited World Tree, which serves as the game's new endgame region and the conclusion of Palworld's main storyline.

Accessing the World Tree entails navigating a significantly expanded storyline, and so it serves as something players naturally arrive at rather than a secluded biome of its own.

Above the skies of Palpagos, players will encounter the new Sky Islands. This cluster of airborne lands includes new locations to explore, resources to gather, new enemies to challenge, and Pals to discover. Along with a second massive island, these locations effectively double the explorable world over the Early Access release.

For players exploring the increased map space, Version 1.0 adds the new Wing Pack, which lets you glide around from up high without taking up one of your active Pal slots. Plus, now you can even build offshore bases if that's what you prefer.

Over 200 Pals Available in Version 1.0

Palworld's creature roster grows significantly with Version 1.0, pushing the Paldeck beyond 200 entries.

Included in the list of verified Pal is Dark/Neutral Pal, Dupin, which has the ability to produce illusory copies of itself in combat. Melee attacking lumbering Pal Leafan should be viable for both battle and base tasks.

One of the most unusual newcomers is Sword Eel, a Water/Dragon Pal that can transform into a melee weapon for players to wield directly.

Exploration types get the giant flying Sky dragon within the Sky Islands to explore from the sky and the gigantic flying Ocean Whale for traveling across the sea.

Players will encounter powerful opponents when traversing the World Tree, such as the Grass/Earth raid boss, The Tree Guardian, who safeguards the roots of the World Tree. More Pals confirmed for Version 1.0 are Ophydia, Tropiclaw, Dualith, and Vanusa, with other Pals being discovered beyond the game's release.

Story Progression Has Been Completely Reworked

Perhaps the single largest shift in the 1.0 release is the way that the game’s players interact with its space. While open-ended exploration has been almost a pillar of the early access release’s presentation, the final product provides structured narrative missions that will escort players around the game world whilst slowly acclimating them to a selection of different tools, mechanics, and even entire regions.

Tower Boss Battles Receive a Major Upgrade

The entire set of Tower Boss encounters has been redesigned. Previously, the Tower Bosses often fought players within virtually identical arenas; now, each Boss has a dedicated battlefield reflecting the area where they were found, helping them to better represent their environment and personality. Bosses also feature a series of combat phases, forcing the players to switch their playstyle mid-fight. By conquering these formidable opponents, players will also unlock a recruitment quest, offering them the opportunity to recruit a new friend to join the ranks of their adventuring party.

Genetic Recombination Replaces Traditional Breeding

Version 1.0 introduces Genetic Recombination, replacing the previous passive inheritance breeding system.

Rather than relying primarily on inherited random traits, players can use the genes of powerful Legendary Pals to spawn offspring with more controllable traits. Breeders will be given greater precision and customization options when developing combat companions, specialized working Pals, or other advanced builds with this feature.

Wildlife Sanctuaries Become True Endgame Zones

Wildlife Sanctuaries have also been given a much-needed makeover. Instead of simply being a place to plant expensive, rare Pals and get lots of eggs, each Wildlife Sanctuary has its own set of risks, including environmental risks, security patrols, containment structures, security barriers, and terrifying boss enemies. These redesigned spaces offer challenging late-game areas instead of being just simple resource-gathering locations.

PvP Officially Arrives

Competitive players have their dedicated PvP mode finally delivered in version 1.0. Players will be able to fight using their most beloved Pals, in addition to mounts, standard equipment, and their defensive structures to build up around a base. PvP has become a structured competitive activity that will be a wholly new pursuit for veteran players who have already finished the main storyline and have developed teams of OP Pals.

Dedicated Servers Become More Flexible

Multiplayer has one of its most massive upgrades implemented in the form of Server Clustering. As before, servers are able to be connected together into a bigger clustered server network so that players will be able to travel between servers whilst retaining their current character progress, Pal Box, and their captured Pals. If you choose, you can simply walk from a PvP game to a PvE, from one community server to another, without losing any progress. This makes it much easier for massive multiplayer communities to manage their players.

Existing Saves Are Fully Supported

No data loss will be incurred with the 1.0 update. Early Access save data will carry over to the 1.0 release, as confirmed by Pocketpair, although because the game's progression system has been thoroughly revamped, it will likely be a fun experience to start fresh and get accustomed to the new pacing and narrative flow. Both are viable.

Performance Improvements

Because the world grew so much, a set of backend optimizations was included to ensure that stable performance was still a thing in Version 1.0. The update offers the engine an update to deal with the growing worlds, Pal, and entity count. If you're hosting a server, make sure you invest in some quick NVMe storage and a recent high-clock CPU for good performance on larger community servers.
