Marvel Rivals 8.5 Release Date

What Can You Expect from This Update

Introducing The New Hero: Cyclops

He’s effective at putting pressure on the enemies and able to control the space if he has to. Although he’s a duelist, Cyclops is neither a flanker nor melee-based hero. Using his skills, he’s able to deal with ranged beam attacks.
Cyclops utilizes his optic blasts as his main attacks, and the skill mostly consists of laser attacks that can directly hit enemies and bounce off the walls. He can also change position using the recoil of his shots. His ultimate, however, would get rid of power inhibitors and make the next beam attack ultra-powerful.
Doomsday
Cyclops isn’t the only hero you can meet in this mid-season update. The 8.5 update now only has its first phase out of the three that will be released later in July and October. The other hero that you’ll meet is none other than Doomsday, another fan favorite.
Since July isn’t just a mere month away, we could expect something better in the next month. Maybe Doomsday will be released in Phase Two of this update. Hopefully, though, it won’t be delayed again.
Meanwhile, the players still have many things to do during the first phase of the update. There is a new battle mode that they could try: the 18vs18.
18v18 Game Mode
This new game mode is called the Bounty Annihilation. It’s a large-scale battle that made its first debut in this Marvel Rivals 8.5 season update. It is the mode where you can expect an 18vs18 battle; definitely more chaotic and grand compared to your usual fights.
Along with the new type of battle, this mode also introduces a new map, the K’un-Lun: Shenloong Arena. Now that you’ll be fighting a lot more enemies at once, it will change the way you approach the battle.
Team synergy is now more needed than ever. While you could still expect some personal duels here and there, zone control, durability, and targeting are the factors you’ll have to focus on in this new game mode.

Summer Event
Another thing that’s really noticeable about this update is the arrival of the Rivals Summer Festival. This event will start from 18 June 2026, and will present players with event activities, login bonuses, and rewards up to 2,500 units.
During this event, many summer skins will be released for some of the heroes. The skins cover a lot of roster heroes, including:

There will also be a new social club with a summer theme as well, called Hellfire Bay Beach, which will replace Times Square as the social hub for the players for the duration of the event.
616 Day Vault
Finally, 616 Day Vault is back in Season 8.5 of Marvel Rivals. This is the feature that lets players get the cosmetics that were released in the past seasonal events. So if you have a unique skin that you’ve missed, just check the vault to finally get it.
The vault is active, starting from June 12, 2026, to June 26, 2026. Those who have the desire (and the units) to get the exclusive skins from the past, the 616 Day Vault is the best place to get them.
