One of Elden Ring's most satisfying mechanics is the Remembrance system, a reference to the "boss soul" system from previous FromSoftware games like Dark Souls. Every time you take down a major boss, you receive their Remembrance, a special item tied to that enemy's power. There are 15 Remembrances in the game excluding the dlc, each tied to a specific boss.

How The Remembrances Work
After defeating any Remembrance boss, the Remembrance drops automatically and goes into your key items. You can consume it directly for a big amount of runes, or you can trade it to Enia the Finger Reader. Trading is always the better option as the unique equipment you get from the trade is more valuable than the runes, especially for building around specific damage types or playstyles.
You can also duplicate Remembrances at the Wandering Mausoleums scattered across the Lands Between, letting you obtain both rewards from the trade from a single boss without going into New Game+. There are seven Wandering Mausoleums in the game so pick the best ones to duplicate, though two of these lack a bell and cannot duplicate the Shardbearer Remembrances (those dropped by Godrick, Rennala, Radahn, Morgott, Rykard, Mohg, and Malenia). Remembrances carry over into New Game+, but the ability to duplicate also resets so you need to defeat each boss again in the New game+ before the duplication becomes available again.
All 15 Remembrance Boss Locations
Remembrance of the Grafted, Godrick the Grafted
Location: Stormveil Castle, Limgrave
Godrick is one of the earliest Shardbearers and a mandatory boss on the path to the Roundtable Hold. He's found at the end of Stormveil Castle. The fight has two distinct phases, with the second involving him grafting a dragon's head onto his arm for fire breath attacks.
Rewards from Enia: Axe of Godrick (greataxe) or Grafted Dragon (fist weapon with fire damage)
Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen, Rennala the Queen of the Full Moon
Location: Academy of Raya Lucaria, Liurnia of the Lakes
Rennala sits at the top of Raya Lucaria Academy in the Grand Library. She's another mandatory Shardbearer boss and also provides the Rebirth mechanic for respeccing your character. Phase one involves breaking the golden seal around her while students hold her aloft, phase two is a sorcery duel in a moonlit arena.
Rewards from Enia: Rennala's Full Moon (sorcery) or Carian Regal Scepter (glintstone staff)
Remembrance of the Starscourge, Starscourge Radahn
Location: Redmane Castle, Caelid (Radahn Festival)
Radahn's arena is reached by activating the Radahn Festival, which triggers after progressing Ranni's questline or reaching Altus Plateau. The fight takes place on a massive open battlefield in Caelid where you can summon numerous NPCs to assist. Radahn crashes down from the stars at the start of his second phase.
Rewards from Enia: Starscourge Greatsword (dual colossal swords) or Lion Greatbow (greatbow with unique Radahn's Rain skill)
Remembrance of the Regal Ancestor, Regal Ancestor Spirit
Location: Nokron, Eternal City
The Regal Ancestor Spirit is an optional boss found in the underground city of Nokron, which only becomes accessible after defeating Radahn (his defeat causes a meteor to open the path in Limgrave). To reach the boss, you first need to light all of the ceremonial fires in the area before interacting with the boss door.
Rewards from Enia: Winged Greathorn (colossal axe) or Ancestral Spirit's Horn (talisman that restores FP on kills)
Remembrance of the Omen King, Morgott The Omen King
Location: Leyndell, Royal Capital
Morgott is a mandatory boss guarding the way forward to the Mountaintops of the Giants, and you'll have already encountered him in disguise as Margit at Stormveil Castle. He fights with a wide array of golden weapon conjurations and is aggressive in his final phase.
Rewards from Enia: Morgott's Cursed Sword (curved greatsword with blood loss) or Regal Omen Bairn (consumable tool that conjures a wave of spirits)
Remembrance of the Naturalborn, Astel The Naturalborn of the Void
Location: Lake of Rot, underground (end of Ranni's questline)
Astel is an optional boss found at the end of the Lake of Rot dungeon, deep underground beneath Liurnia. It's closely tied to Ranni's questline but can be fought independently. This massive space creature attacks with cosmic energy, gravitational pulls, and a devastating AoE explosion in its second phase.
Rewards from Enia: Bastard's Stars (flail with gravitational scaling) or Ash of War: Waves of Darkness (gravitational AoE skill)
Remembrance of the Blasphemous, Rykard The Lord of Blasphemy
Location: Volcano Manor, Mt. Gelmir
Rykard is an optional Shardbearer tied to the Volcano Manor questline, though you can reach him independently via the Altus Plateau. The fight is designed as a unique gimmick encounter, there's a special Serpent-Hunter greatsword in the arena meant to be used against him, making it very different from most boss encounters. He has a two-phase fight where the first form is the God-Devouring Serpent.
Rewards from Enia: Blasphemous Blade (greatsword that heals on kills, widely considered one of the best weapons in the game) or Rykard's Rancor (sorcery)
Remembrance of the Lichdragon, Lichdragon Fortissax
Location: Deeproot Depths (Fia's questline)
Fortissax is an optional boss accessed exclusively by completing Fia the Deathbed Companion's questline. After reaching the Deeproot Depths underground, you progress through Fia's storyline until she offers you the ability to enter her dream, where the Lichdragon waits. This is one of the questline-locked bosses in the game.
Rewards from Enia: Fortissax's Lightning Spear (incantation) or Death Lightning (incantation)
Remembrance of the Fire Giant, Fire Giant
Location: Mountaintops of the Giants, Flame Peak
The Fire Giant is a mandatory boss on the critical path, you must defeat him to light the Erdtree and trigger the game's final act. He's found in the frozen peaks north of the Giants' Gravepost grace. A very large two-phase boss where his leg becomes a target in phase two after he tears himself apart.
Rewards from Enia: Giant's Red Braid (whip) or Burn, O Flame! (incantation)
Remembrance of the Blood Lord, Mohg The Lord of Blood
Location: Mohgwyn Palace (underground, accessible via two routes)
Mohg is an optional Shardbearer found in the hidden underground area of Mohgwyn Palace. You can reach it either through White Mask Varre's questline (the earliest method) or via a one-way teleporter hidden in the Consecrated Snowfield. The fight involves Mohg casting a blood curse that ticks three times during phase transition, using the Purifying Crystal Tear in your flask removes this mechanic.
Rewards from Enia: Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear (great spear with blood loss) or Bloodboon (incantation)
Remembrance of the Black Blade, Maliketh The Black Blade
Location: Crumbling Farum Azula
Maliketh is a mandatory boss found deep in Crumbling Farum Azula, the storm-battered ancient ruins. You first fight him as the Beast Clergyman in phase one before he reveals his true form. His attacks in phase two reduce your maximum HP temporarily, so managing your health carefully is the key.
Rewards from Enia: Maliketh's Black Blade (colossal sword) or Black Blade (incantation)
Remembrance of the Dragonlord, Dragonlord Placidusax
Location: Crumbling Farum Azula (hidden location)
Placidusax is one of the most spectacular optional bosses in the game and also one of the more obscure to find. In Crumbling Farum Azula, descend to the floating platforms in the lower section until you find a Site of Grace near a large broken platform surrounded by the storm. Lie down at the small exposed ledge in the center of that platform and you'll be teleported into Placidusax's arena, a two-headed eternal dragon boss in a golden fog.
Rewards from Enia: Dragon King's Cragblade (heavy thrusting sword with storm damage) or Placidusax's Ruin (incantation that fires a massive dragon beam)
Remembrance of Hoarah Loux, Hoarah Loux The Warrior
Location: Leyndell, Ashen Capital (post-Maliketh)
After defeating Maliketh, the Royal Capital transforms into the Ashen Capital. What was previously Godfrey's golden shade (a mandatory fight earlier) becomes the real Godfrey, First Elden Lord, and then transitions into Hoarah Loux in phase two, a brutal grappler who abandons his axe entirely. This is a mandatory boss on the final stretch to the Elden Beast.
Rewards from Enia: Axe of Godfrey (greataxe) or Ash of War: Hoarah Loux's Earthshaker
Remembrance of the Rot Goddess, Malenia The Blade of Miquella
Location: Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree
Malenia is entirely optional but is widely regarded as the hardest boss in Elden Ring. Reaching her requires completing a long and well-hidden path through the Consecrated Snowfield to the Haligtree, culminating in Elphael. She regenerates health on every hit she lands including those blocked by a shield and her second phase Scarlet Rot explosion can wipe the entire arena. Despite her difficulty, the rewards match the challenge.
Rewards from Enia: Hand of Malenia (katana with her signature Waterfowl Dance skill) or Scarlet Aeonia (incantation)
Elden Remembrance, Elden Beast
Location: Elden Throne, Leyndell Ashen Capital (final boss)
The Elden Beast is the true final boss of Elden Ring, fought immediately after Radagon of the Golden Order in a back-to-back sequence with no Site of Grace in between. It takes place in a golden cosmos arena and the creature moves around constantly, requiring sustained pursuit. Defeating it ends the run and leads to one of the game's several endings.
Rewards from Enia: Marika's Hammer or Sacred Relic Sword are both excellent choices, with the Sacred Relic Sword being one of the best rune-farming weapons in the game thanks to its Wave of Gold skill.
Conclusion
One important tip worth keeping in mind: never consume a Remembrance for runes. Even the lowest-value ones only gives you 20,000 runes, which is a small reward compared to what Enia offers in trade. The weapons, sorceries, and incantations you get from trading are some of the most powerful and unique items in the entire game and gear you cannot obtain any other way.
