God of War Ragnarok PC Graphics
Everybody expected a higher graphical fidelity on PC, and fortunately, the developer delivered. God of War Ragnarok PC offers better graphics in terms of resolution, details, and shadows.
Thanks to the production team, now we can enjoy God of War Ragnarok in much higher resolution and frame rate. Although if you take a close look, you may notice that the polygons are not up to today’s standards.
This, however, is expected because it’s a 2022 game after all. For this game to finally come to PC is such a blessing, knowing how great the game is. And since it’s on PC, you can always mod the graphics higher with a hi-res texture mod available everywhere.
Even without the mod, the texture is crisp enough most of the time. Fogs and god rays are presented in a beautiful way despite the game’s engine limitations. Texture on characters is also detailed.
God of War Ragnarok on PC doesn’t have support for ray tracing. But the game still looks really pretty with the screen-space and cube map reflections that have been used for decades.
Shader Compilation
Just like some games, God of War Ragnarok PC also compiles shaders at the beginning of the game. It could take some time for the progress to finish, but it won’t actually stop you from playing the game.
There will be a little stuttering here and there during the process, but it will go away after it completes. Approximately, it’ll take around 5 minutes. In the meantime, you can still play the game as usual because the progress runs in the background.
The next time you play the game, there will be no compiling again. The load time is also fast, especially for SSD.
Accessibility
God of War Ragnarok also caters for those new to gaming. The developer has added some options regarding the game’s difficulty, hints, mini-games, and others.
While it’s not that important for experienced gamers, this opens up a new opportunity to a wide range of people who want to play the series for the first time without being tackled by the difficulty.
Upscalers
To deliver an even smoother experience, you can find several upscaler options in God of War PC, including DLSS, DSR, and XeSS. Frame generation is also present to crank up that FPS even more.
All the issues, including the broken implementation, have been patched in Patch 2. So, there’s nothing to worry about in the current game version.
As for sharpening, you have the option to disable motion blur completely, making the game look clearer and more accessible for those who experience motion sickness. Sadly, there’s no setting to adjust the FOV.
Hardware Requirements
Below are the graphics requirements for God of War PC:
Minimum Requirements
| Components | Requirements |
| CPU | Intel i5-2500k (4 core 3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (4 core 3.1 GHz) |
| GPU | NVIDIA GTX 960 (4 GB) or AMD R9 290X (4 GB) |
| RAM | 8 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Minimum Storage Space | 190 GB available space |
Recommended Requirements
| Components | Requirements |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| GPU | NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super, AMD RX 5700, or Intel Arc A770 with 8 GB VRAM |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 |
| Minimum Storage Space | 190 GB available space |
Fortunately, the hardware requirements are not that taxing for a 2022 game. At recommended settings, you can expect the game to run at Medium settings at 60 frames per second, 1080 P.
If you want to achieve 4K 60 FPS, you’ll need much stronger GPUs, like RTX 4070 Ti or Radeon RX 7900 XT. These will easily put you at the Ultra settings 4K 60 FPS.
As always, don’t forget to update your graphics cards that officially support the game. It’ll definitely deliver a smoother experience overall.
Settings Performance Scaling
Having the game to look at its best is great, especially for such a story-driven game like this. However, this may not sound so fun for gamers who want to go for lower settings because the scaling isn’t that significant.
Even at the lowest settings, God of War Ragnarok still looks great. Putting the game from Ultra to Low can only boost the FPS up to 25%, which is not good at all, even at the minimum requirements.
Although this means that putting the lower settings won’t mean much, this could also be something good because even at lower resolution, you can still enjoy great graphics.
Conclusion
In its current condition, we can’t recommend God of War Ragnarok PC enough. It runs really well on PC, the graphics are great, and the optimization from the development team is always top-notch.
So, we highly recommend buying the God of War Ragnarok Steam Key if you’re interested. Don’t forget to get the key on Lootbar where the affordability, quality, and safety are always guaranteed.
