And now, we have a promo inspired by he World Cups of the past: Greats of The Game! It’s an Icon and Hero promo filled with only the biggest legends of the sport, like Ronaldinho, Beckenbauer, R9, and even Zidane.

It’s a pretty good promo considering even the fodder is great and pack luck doesn’t seem terrible a few hours in. We’ll go over all the best cards from the promo, and even great low-budget picks if you’re trying to improve your squad as a new player. Every Icon and Hero in Greats of The Game in FC 26 From FC 26

Not accounting for SBCs, there are over 40 cards in Greats of The Game Team 1. The Icons are the main focus here, with the Heroes (Voller, Sneijder, Kompany, Al Jaber, Forlán, Nakata, and Lizarazu) all being discard price fodder. But even these cards are great for players just starting out, because they all have decent stats, body types, and most of them have great Playstyles too. The attack is stacked like crazy in Greats of The Game, with Ronaldinho, R9, Thierry Henry, Puskas, and Gareth Bale as the biggest standouts. Each of them have 4 Playstyles+ and being worth millions a few hours after release, with R9 predictably extinct at 15m. Kempes also has a card with 4 Playstyles+, but since two of them are First Touch+ and Pinged+ (which isn’t great for a ST), he’s less than 100k.

Midfielders from Greats of The Game in FC 26

If you thought the attack was crazy, just wait until you hear about the top midfielders. Zinedine Zidane, Johan Cruyff, Sir Bobby Charlton, Xavi, Iniesta, and Patrick Vieira. Not to mention amazing mid-range options like Rivellino, Kroos, Matthaus, and Zico. If you’re looking for a new midfielder to add to your team, there’s no better chance than this promo.

The high-range options are expensive for sure, but they’re also as end-game as it gets. The only other low-range Icon midfielder from the promo is Del Piero, who is close to discard price despite having Low Driven+, Finesse+, and Technical+, which are three of the best Playstyles+ in the game. Which just goes to show how amazing the rest of the cards must be if someone like Del Piero is close to discard.

Defenders from Greats of The Game in FC 26

Team 1 of Greats of The Game has some of the best defenders to ever grace the sport, but their cards are lacklustre compared to the other positions. Maldini and Beckenbauer are the only high-tier defenders, each worth over 4 million. There are really affordable cards for Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Marcelo, and a great mid-range Thuram as well. But most of these have better alternatives on the market, hence their price.

On top of all the players above that are in packs, Luis Figo and Eto’o are also available as Greats of The Game Icons in SBCs. Both of them are quite affordable and easy to grind with all the fodder available. If you’re a Barca or Madrid fan, either of the two depending on which you support are worth it, especially if you need a player in their position.

Speaking of which, there are promo players available in the Token store as well. There’s a Greats of The Game Haji, along with Marquez and Donovan too. The Heroes cost 100 tokens, while Haji is 200. They’re not amazing cards, but Haji has great Playstyles and is pretty cheap if you need a good CAM.
