Skirk is a Cryo Sword user who plays as a powerful on-field DPS in Genshin Impact. She does not use Elemental Energy. Instead, she uses a special resource called Serpent’s Subtlety. Her Elemental Skill, Havoc: Warp, gives her this resource and lets her enter her unique Seven-Phase Flash mode, which drains it over time, and she can also spend it all at once to unleash her Elemental Burst, Havoc: Ruin. Her gameplay revolves around absorbing Void Rifts, which appear when her teammates trigger Cryo reactions such as Freeze, and her damage grows with every Hydro or Cryo teammate in the team. With strong synergy around Freeze, team buffs, and careful rotation management, Skirk excels as a high-damage carry that deals huge Cryo DMG over a long time on the field. In this Skirk build guide, we will cover the best builds, recommended weapons, artifacts, and team compositions to maximize her potential.

Skirk Gameplay
Skirk’s gameplay revolves around dealing powerful Cryo DMG while carefully managing her special resource, Serpent’s Subtlety. Unlike most characters, she does not rely on Elemental Energy at all. Her kit focuses on her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, with Serpent’s Subtlety letting her stay in her strong stance or release a large Burst, making her highly effective as a dedicated on-field DPS in Freeze teams.
Her Elemental Skill, Havoc: Warp, can be used in two ways. When she taps it, she gains 45 Serpent’s Subtlety and enters Seven-Phase Flash mode. In this mode, her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks turn into Cryo DMG that other elements cannot override, and her attacks become stronger and cover a wider area. The mode lasts up to 12.5 seconds, but it keeps using Serpent’s Subtlety, so she leaves it when the resource runs out. When she holds the Skill instead, she also gains 45 Serpent’s Subtlety, moves at high speed, can run on water, and absorbs nearby Void Rifts.
Void Rifts are created when nearby teammates trigger Freeze, Superconduct, Cryo Swirl, or Cryo Crystallize on enemies. Up to three Void Rifts can be on the field at once. Skirk absorbs them by hitting an enemy with a Charged Attack in Seven-Phase Flash mode, by using her special Burst, or by holding her Elemental Skill. Each Void Rift gives her 8 more Serpent’s Subtlety, which keeps her stance going longer and helps her Burst hit harder. This is why teammates who can trigger Cryo reactions are so important for her.
When Skirk has at least 50 Serpent’s Subtlety, she can use her Elemental Burst, Havoc: Ruin. It spends all of her Serpent’s Subtlety to unleash rapid Cryo slashes, and it deals more damage for every point above 50, up to 12 extra points. While she is in Seven-Phase Flash mode, her Burst changes into Havoc: Extinction, which can be used without spending Serpent’s Subtlety. It absorbs nearby Void Rifts and boosts her next Normal Attacks. Her passive talents further improve her performance. Return to Oblivion gives her stacking Death’s Crossing bonuses when Hydro teammates deal Hydro DMG or Cryo teammates deal Cryo DMG, increasing her Normal Attack damage in Seven-Phase Flash mode and the damage of Havoc: Ruin, while Mutual Weapons Mentorship raises the Elemental Skill level of the party in teams made only of Hydro and Cryo characters. This allows Skirk to perform best when built around strong Freeze synergy, proper resource management, and long on-field rotations.
Skirk Talent Priority
Skirk’s talent priority focuses primarily on her Elemental Skill, as it holds the damage of her Normal Attacks while she is in Seven-Phase Flash mode, which is her main way of dealing damage. Her Elemental Burst comes next, as Havoc: Ruin and Havoc: Extinction both scale with this talent, and it matters even more if you play her as a quick-swap Burst DPS. Her Normal Attack is the lowest priority, as the enhanced Normal Attacks she uses in Seven-Phase Flash scale with her Skill talent, not with this one.
| Talent | Recommended Level | |
| Elemental Skill (Havoc: Warp) | 10 | |
| Elemental Burst (Havoc: Ruin) | 9-10 | |
| Normal Attack (Havoc: Sunder) | 1-4 | |
Elemental Skill – Havoc: Warp
Skirk’s Elemental Skill is her highest priority, as it is the core of her kit and the source of her damage in Seven-Phase Flash mode. It lets her enter her special stance, gain Serpent’s Subtlety, and move quickly to absorb Void Rifts. Since the damage of her enhanced Normal Attacks comes from this talent, leveling it greatly improves both her main damage and her sustained Cryo output, making it the most important talent to prioritize.
Elemental Burst – Havoc: Ruin
Skirk’s Elemental Burst is her secondary priority. Havoc: Ruin spends all of her Serpent’s Subtlety to deal a big series of Cryo slashes, while Havoc: Extinction gives her extra Normal Attack damage during Seven-Phase Flash mode. Leveling this talent improves both versions, and it is valuable for every playstyle, though it stays slightly below her Elemental Skill for on-field play.
Normal Attack – Havoc: Sunder
Skirk’s Normal Attack is the lowest priority in her kit. Although she uses many Normal Attacks during her stance, the damage of those enhanced attacks comes from her Elemental Skill talent. Her Normal Attack talent adds very little to her total output, making it the least efficient investment. For most builds, this talent can stay at low level.
Skirk Best Weapons
To maximize Skirk’s performance, prioritize ATK, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG, as her overall damage depends on her Normal Attacks in Seven-Phase Flash mode and on her Elemental Burst. Skirk does not use Elemental Energy, so Energy Recharge is not needed on her weapon. Since her teams are limited to Hydro and Cryo characters, she cannot use common ATK buffers such as Bennett, which makes weapons with high base ATK or strong ATK bonuses very valuable. Her signature weapon, Azurelight, is the best choice by a large margin, as she can keep its extra bonus active almost all the time. Weapons that raise her Normal Attack damage and CRIT stats are far more valuable than pure utility options.

Skirk Best Artifacts & Stats
To maximize Skirk’s performance as a dedicated on-field DPS, artifact choices should prioritize CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK%. Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery are not needed, since she does not use Energy and Freeze does not scale with Elemental Mastery. Her signature set, Finale of the Deep Galleries, is the best choice, as it gives a 60% damage bonus to either her Normal Attacks or her Elemental Burst. If you have Furina in your team, Marechaussee Hunter is a good alternative, because Furina’s HP changes trigger the set’s CRIT Rate bonus, although it can push her CRIT Rate too high with some weapons. Beginners who have not farmed a full set yet can use a mix of two 2-piece sets, such as Blizzard Strayer and Gladiator’s Finale, until they get Finale of the Deep Galleries.

Skirk Best Team Compositions
Skirk performs best in Freeze teams made only of Hydro and Cryo characters. Her passive, Return to Oblivion, gives her bonus damage for each Hydro or Cryo teammate, so adding a character from another element causes a clear drop in damage. Her teammates also need to trigger Cryo reactions such as Freeze, because these create the Void Rifts she absorbs to build Serpent’s Subtlety. Escoffier is her best support, Furina is a top Hydro partner, and Vodyanitsa, a newer Hydro character, is now a top pick for the fourth slot thanks to her healing, Hydro and Cryo RES reduction, and damage buffs. Since Skirk teams usually run long rotations of around 20 seconds or more, supports with strong buff uptime are very valuable. If you do not have Escoffier, Skirk is still playable, but expect lower damage.

Skirk Constellations
Skirk is already fully functional at C0 as a dedicated on-field Cryo DPS, with access to her full Seven-Phase Flash mode, her Havoc: Ruin Burst, and strong Freeze teams. Her constellations mainly improve her personal damage by adding stronger Void Rift hits, giving her more Serpent’s Subtlety and ATK, and raising her talent levels, rather than changing how she plays. Among them, C1 stands out as a strong early upgrade, while C2 gives a big boost to both of her playstyles. A good order is her signature weapon first, then C1, then C2. C6 serves as her strongest late-game investment with extra coordinated attacks and damage reduction, although it does not shorten her long setup time. C3 and C5 only raise talent levels, and C5 is especially good for her Normal Attack stance.
Constellation Performance
| Constellation | Rating | Explanation |
| C1 | ★★★★☆ | Makes every Void Rift Skirk absorbs create a crystal blade that deals extra Cryo DMG equal to 500% of her ATK. Since she usually absorbs around 5 to 6 Void Rifts in one rotation, this adds a large amount of damage and makes it her best early upgrade after her signature weapon. |
| C2 | ★★★★★ | Gives Skirk 10 extra Serpent’s Subtlety after using her Skill, lets Havoc: Ruin count 10 more points for extra damage, and grants a 70% ATK boost after she uses Havoc: Extinction. This is a major upgrade for her Normal Attack stance and an even bigger one for Burst-focused play. |
| C4 | ★★★☆☆ | Adds up to 40% ATK based on her Death’s Crossing stacks. It is a decent upgrade that helps both her Normal Attack stance and her Burst play, but it adds less damage than her other key constellations. |
| C6 | ★★★★★ | Skirk’s strongest constellation. Each Void Rift she absorbs gives her a Havoc: Sever stack, which she can use for powerful coordinated Cryo attacks and to reduce the damage she takes in Seven-Phase Flash mode. This provides her largest damage increase, though it does not shorten her long setup time. |
Constellation Effect
| Constellation | Effect |
| C1 | "Far to Fall" Enhances the effects of the Ascension Talent Reason Beyond Reason: Every Void Rift absorbed will summon a crystal blade to attack nearby opponents, dealing 500% of Skirk's ATK as Cryo DMG. This DMG is considered Charged Attack DMG. You must first unlock the Ascension Talent Reason Beyond Reason. |
| C2 | "Into the Abyss" After unleashing her Elemental Skill Havoc: Warp, Skirk will gain 10 additional Serpent's Subtlety points. When using her Elemental Burst Havoc: Ruin, the DMG of this Elemental Burst instance will be increased by taking up to 10 more Serpent's Subtlety points into account. Additionally, within 12.5s after Skirk unleashes the special Elemental Burst Havoc: Extinction while in her Seven-Phase Flash mode, her ATK is increased by 70%. This effect will be canceled when she leaves the Seven-Phase Flash mode. |
| C3 | "Serendipitous Sin" Increases the Level of Havoc: Ruin by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
| C4 | "Fractured Flow" Enhances the effects of the Ascension Talent Return to Oblivion: Each Death's Crossing stack also increases Skirk's ATK by 10%/20%/40%. You must first unlock the Ascension Talent Return to Oblivion. |
| C5 | "End of Wishes" Increases the Level of Havoc: Warp by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
| C6 | "To the Source" Each Void Rift Skirk absorbs via the effects of the Ascension Talent Reason Beyond Reason will grant her 1 Havoc: Sever stack. She can consume such stacks to initiate coordinated attacks and decrease the DMG she takes while in Seven-Phase Flash mode. These stacks last for 15s, and each stack's duration is counted independently (max 3 stacks). You must first unlock the Ascension Talent "Reason Beyond Reason."Havoc: SeverWhen Skirk uses the Elemental Burst Havoc: Ruin, she will consume all Havoc: Sever stacks to initiate a coordinated attack in which each Havoc: Sever stack will deal 750% of Skirk's ATK as Cryo DMG. This DMG is considered Elemental Burst DMG. When she uses Normal Attacks while in Seven-Phase Flash mode, 1 Havoc: Sever stack will be consumed when her third or fifth sequenced attacks hit an opponent to launch 3 coordinated attacks. Each coordinated attack deals 180% of Skirk's ATK as Cryo DMG. This damage is considered Normal Attack DMG.When Skirk takes DMG while in Seven-Phase Flash mode, 1 Havoc: Sever stack will be consumed to decrease this DMG instance by 80% and attack nearby opponents 3 times, with each attack dealing 180% of Skirk's ATK as Cryo DMG. This DMG is considered Charged Attack DMG. |
Conclusion
This comprehensive guide highlights Skirk’s role as a powerful Cryo on-field DPS in Genshin Impact, offering strong Freeze synergy, explosive Burst windows, and high damage output through her unique Seven-Phase Flash mode. By managing Serpent’s Subtlety and absorbing Void Rifts, Skirk can unleash powerful attacks through Havoc: Warp and Havoc: Ruin, making her especially strong in Freeze teams built only from Hydro and Cryo characters, with Escoffier and Furina as her best partners.
While Skirk performs well at C0, her constellations mainly improve her personal damage by adding stronger Void Rift hits, more ATK, and higher talent levels rather than changing her core playstyle. C1 improves her damage early, C2 gives a major boost to both of her playstyles, while C6 serves as her strongest late-game investment with extra coordinated attacks and damage reduction.
