The Return of Fortnite OG Season 9

The headline feature of v41.10 is the return of Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 9, bringing back classic, futuristic-themed locations that originally appeared after the Volcano's destruction. Neo Tilted, Mega Mall, and Pressure Plant are all back on the map, alongside returning mechanics like Slipstreams for fast travel and Air Vents that launch you into the air at high speed, letting you move, shoot, and build mid-flight without taking fall damage. A new OG Pass accompanies the season, featuring remixed versions of classic Season 9 characters, including Dragonheart Demi (unlocked immediately with the OG Pass or a Fortnite Crew subscription) and Neo Future Rox. Fan-favorite weapons are also returning to the loot pool, including the Infinity Blade, Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle, and Suppressed SMG.

5 New Sprites

5 New Sprites

  • Striker Sprite

Grants Overdrive whenever you Mantle or Hurdle.

  • Fishy Sprite

Boosts swim speed significantly, plus a brief movement speed bump when you take damage.

  • Aura Sprite

Grants a Shock Rock charge after dealing enough damage to an enemy.

  • Boss Sprite

Increases your maximum Health and Shield.

  • Grim Reaper Sprite

Marks the location of anyone who attacks you for a short duration.

Sprite Mastery Updates

The Sprite Mastery Pod has been updated to include all v41.00 Sprites and their variants. Leveling a Sprite to Level 5 masters it and lets you show it off as a Back Bling on your Sprite Mastery Pod. Sprites and variants added in v41.10 will be added as a Sprite Pod style starting in v41.20.

The update also confirms 2 more Sprites are coming soon: a "Seven Sprite" that reveals enemy footprints to your squad, and an "Air Sprite" that boosts sprint speed and jump height while nullifying fall damage.

New Consumables: Shock Rocks and Quack Snacks

New Consumables

Two new consumable items arrive alongside the Sprite additions. Shock Rocks grant a temporary Shockwave effect when consumed, while Quack Snacks restore health and shield on top of granting Sprite XP, making it easier to level up whichever Sprite you're currently carrying. Sprites can also be leveled up by healing at Campfires, and you can fish them up directly at Fishing Spots scattered around the island.

Gone Wild Summer Event

Fortnite Gone Wild

Running from June 25 through July 9, the Gone Wild event is a two-week summer-themed stretch packed with new unvaults, new Questlines, and new extra ways to track down Sprites. Expect more Golden Fishing Spots and Campfires scattered around the map, along with the new Firework Flaregun item joining the loot pool for the duration of the event.

Zero Build Reload Changes

The Zero Build version of Reload mode also got a notable refresh with this update. Matches now start you off already equipped with a Pistol, one Small Shield Potion, and a Pocket Item of your choice (Shockwave Grenade, Med Mist Grenade, or Shield Bubble), so you're ready to fight immediately after dropping in. You can also redeploy your Glider whenever you've got enough height to cover ground, and you now have unlimited stamina while wielding your Pickaxe. On top of that, weapon damage against environmental structures has been significantly reduced, and players can find Elite Mongraal on the Stronghold map.

Weapon Balance Adjustments

  • Ranger Pistol

Slightly increased spread while aiming down sights or halfway through a magazine; deals slightly less damage at longer ranges.

  • Maven Auto Shotgun

Increased minimum pellet count per hit for more reliable damage at all ranges; slightly increased fire rate.

  • Extending Focus Shotgun

Increased pellet coverage for more consistent hits; deals more damage and reloads slightly faster; equips slightly faster.

Ranked and Quality-of-Life Updates

Ranked mode picks up a helpful new feature in this patch: in-match feedback pop-ups that highlight specific actions improving your skill rating in real time. The Sprite Mastery track has also been extended with new rewards for players who master their Sprites, and the Daily Bonus Goals system received a fix, removing the fourth goal so players can once again clear all of their Goals within a single match.

Update v41.10 ships with one of the largest bug-fix lists Epic has released recently, reportedly covering over 100 individual issues. Some of the more notable fixes include corrected Nintendo Switch 2 controller input responsiveness in the Lobby, a fix for Helsie's hair not animating properly under DirectX 12 at 60 FPS or higher, and Dark Cubic Sneakers now previewing correctly on the Passes screen. SpongeBob SquarePants's Sidekick voice lines have also been restored in non-English languages, alongside a wave of smaller fixes affecting music peripherals, haptic feedback consistency, and various visual glitches.
