FC 26 Companion App: What It Does and Why FUT Players Need

Claim Rivals rewards without turning on your console. Complete SBCs from your phone. Trade players at 2AM. The FC 26 Companion App does all of this. Here is everything it offers and how to unlock it.

Hello, FUT fans! The FC 26 Companion App is one of those tools that sounds optional until you actually use it. Claiming Rivals rewards without turning on your console. Completing an SBC that expires in two hours because you are nowhere near your PlayStation. Checking transfer market prices on your phone while doing something else entirely. Once the habit is there, going back to managing Ultimate Team exclusively through the game feels unnecessarily slow. This guide covers everything the app does, what it does not do, and how to unlock the parts that are locked behind account requirements. FC Points are available through LootBar.

What the FC 26 Companion App Actually Is

The Companion App is the mobile version of the FC 26 Web App. Same features, different device. The Web App runs in a browser on PC or laptop. The Companion App runs on iOS or Android. Both connect to the same Ultimate Team club. Changes made in the app show up in the game, and vice versa.

The one thing neither app can do is play matches. You cannot play Division Rivals or Squad Battles through the Companion App. Everything that happens outside of actual gameplay, though, is available. Building squads, trading players, completing SBCs, claiming weekly rewards, opening packs, customizing the stadium — all of it.

The FC 26 Companion App became available on September 18, 2025, two days after the Web App went live. Players who already had the FC 25 Companion App on their device received an update prompt. After updating, the FC 25 version stopped working.

Transfer Market: The Feature That Makes the App Worth Installing

The transfer market is why most serious FUT players install the app in the first place. Buying and selling players without being at a console changes how trading works in practice. Price check a card while watching TV. List players the moment a price spike hits. Bid on cards during a work break. The market does not care what time it is or where you are, and the app means you do not have to either.

Transfer market access is not automatic for new accounts. To unlock it, a new player needs to participate in Ultimate Team for 2 active days — each active day requires playing 3 full matches and logging into the Companion App or Web App. Players sharing devices need at least 4 active days. Playtime must be turned on in the app settings.

Players with existing accounts from FC 25 in good standing get immediate access. No waiting period. The graduated system is specifically for brand new FUT accounts, as EA limits early market access to reduce account abuse.

Squad Building Challenges: Easier on the App Than in the Game

SBCs in the full game require navigating menus while the game is running. The Companion App lets you do them as a background activity — phone out, cards moved, SBC submitted, reward claimed, phone back down. The app’s SBC section shows every active challenge, the requirements, and the rewards.

The practical difference: SBCs that expire while you are away from a console are completable on the app. An SBC that closes at midnight when you are not home is completable on the phone at 11:58. This alone saves a meaningful number of rewards across a full season for players who would otherwise miss time-limited challenges.

Quick Sell Recovery is also available through the Club section of the app. Players sold accidentally via quick sell in the last seven days can be recovered from there.

Evolutions: New in FC 26

Evolutions let you improve specific players from your club — upgrading stats and adding cosmetic changes to their item shells. FC 26 added two things to Evolutions that were not in the previous version: GK Evolutions and Animation Previews. Goalkeepers can now be evolved directly through the Companion App, and Animation Previews let you see how a player’s appearance changes before committing to an Evolution.

The Companion App gives full access to Evolutions, including managing active Evo slots and claiming rewards when a slot expires. If an Evo slot expires while the app is closed, the expired slot is no longer hidden if there are unclaimed rewards — a recent patch specifically fixed this so players do not miss rewards from expired but completed Evolutions.

Claiming Weekly Rewards Without Logging In

Division Rivals, Squad Battles, FUT Champions, and Ultimate Team Events all give weekly rewards. In previous years, collecting those rewards meant booting up the full game on console or PC. The Companion App removes that requirement entirely.

Log into the app, go to the rewards section, claim whatever is available. The rewards drop into the club and are accessible immediately in the next game session. For players who finished a weekend of FUT Champions and want the rewards on a Monday morning before work, the app handles that in under a minute.

Store, Packs, and Stadium Customization

The full Ultimate Team Store is available in the app. Packs can be purchased with FC Points or coins directly from a phone. This is convenient but worth treating carefully — opening packs is easier when the friction of sitting at a console is removed, which means it is also easier to spend more than intended. The pack odds are the same as in the game.

Stadium customization is one of the more underrated features. Walkout music, goal celebrations, tifos, pyrotechnics — all of it is changeable from the app without loading up the game. Players who put time into their stadium setup appreciate not having to boot the full game just to swap a tifo before a big session.

How to Get Started

Download the EA SPORTS FC 26 Companion App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Search for “FC 26 Companion” or “EA SPORTS FC 26 Companion.”

Before logging into the app, make sure the EA account is set up on console or PC first: log into EA SPORTS FC 26, go to Ultimate Team mode, create an Ultimate Team Club, and create a Security Question and Answer. Then log into the EA account from the Companion App.

After November 14, 2025, players also need to have logged into Ultimate Team in EA SPORTS FC 26 on console or PC at least once to continue using both the app and Web App. Accounts that never touched the full game after that date lose app access until they do.

Web App vs Companion App: Which to Use

Both do the same things. The Web App runs in a browser, which means a larger screen and easier navigation for complex tasks like setting up formations or managing large SBCs with multiple player requirements. The Companion App is on the phone, which means it is available anywhere.

Most players end up using both for different situations. Quick reward claims and transfer market checks happen on the phone. Larger SBCs and squad building sessions happen on the Web App where there is more screen real estate. Neither is better than the other. They are the same tool in different form factors.

Conclusion

The FC 26 Companion App does almost everything Ultimate Team does outside of playing actual matches. Transfer market trading anywhere, SBC completion without a console, weekly reward claims on the go, Evolutions including new GK Evolutions and Animation Previews, pack purchases, stadium customization, and full squad management. Transfer market access for new accounts requires 2 active days (3 matches per day plus logging into the app). Players with existing FC 25 accounts in good standing get immediate access. Download it, link the EA account, and the FUT experience becomes significantly less dependent on being in front of a console.
