We have the World Cup to look forward to this summer, which should mean extra content for FC 26. But, that’s not stopping players from already wondering what comes next in FC 27. After a strong start but disappointing updates down the line, fans are hoping FC 27 is finally the title where EA can bring some serious change. Especially with other football games like UFL and a rumoured FIFA title coming in partnership with 2K.
EA will have to up their game to maintain their player-base after a significant drop in hype for FC 26. We already know a lot about the next game, including some big changes to Ultimate Team features, tweaks to the Frostbite engine, and more. And if you want to have more fun with FC 26 while you wait for the next one, get FC 26 coins from LootBar to buy any cards you’d like.
Huge Changes and New Features Coming to FUT Features in EA Sports FC 27!
A New SBC System is in The Works
EA are bringing a very positive change to duplicate cards in SBCs. For example, if you have loads and loads of Gabriels in your SBC storage, you can submit 11 of him in the same SBC to complete it! It’s a very positive change for fodder since now you don’t have to worry about packing THAT one card in every promo again and again. The biggest change though, is that there’s potentially going to be a points system in SBCs.
For example, a 91-OVR card could be worth 1000 points, while an 86-OVR could be worth 500. In this hypothetical example, if you have two 91-OVR Putellas and the SBC you’re doing requires 2000 points, you can just submit both the Putellas cards and the SBC requirements will be met. This new system, if EA decide to use it, will exist alongside the old squad OVR system, and which system is used will depend on the SBC.
New Evolution Path System is Coming
Evolutions are also being reworked for FC 27 after so many complaints about terrible evolutions in FC 26. The new system being tested would allow players to choose the upgrades their card receives. For example, an evolution could offer your player +3 Pace, +5 Shooting, or +5 Dribbling, and you can choose which of the three upgrades to go with. This opens up the door to many unique evolution chains and more freedom while upgrading cards.
Collectors Book is Being Added
A brand-new feature is being added that caters to people who love collecting cards in FC more than they like playing the game itself. It works like real-life collection books. You will have pages of cards to collect and fill up. Each slot on the page gets filled up once you buy or collect that specific player. And once you have all cards on the page, you unlock a brand-new special card that matches the theme of the page.
Like real cards, you can also have cards in your collection graded. A better grade for a card means it will likely have more value within your collection and lead to better/rarer rewards. It’s unsure exactly how this feature will work and how much grind it’ll take to get rewards from it, but it sounds cool for anyone that loves collecting FUT cards instead of dumping them into SBCs immediately.
More New Things Coming in FC 27
New Icons Are Being Tested!
A new FC game means new Icons will be added like always, and there’s some very big ones being tried for now. EA are currently testing Agüero, the Man City legend as a new Icon. Alongside him, Real Madrid’s legendary CBs Pepe and Raphael Varane are being tested too. Varane is especially exciting, having been a staple in FIFA/FC meta for so many years. Alongside Agüero, another legendary Argentine ST Mario Kempes and Brazilian legend Rivellino are both being considered too.
FC 27 Will Bring Even More Playstyles To The Game
Brand new Playstyles might be coming to the game, as shown in an FC Mobile teaser some weeks ago. These include new defending Playstyles, passing Playstyles, and even a penalty Playstyle. The exact effects of these aren’t known yet, but there’s a very strong possibility they’re coming in FC 27. On top of that, players will probably see more levels for Playstyles instead of just Silver and Gold. Hopefully these levels make Playstyles less broken and make base stats more prevalent instead.
Open World Mode Is Finally Coming: Alex Hunter Returns!
If you keep up with FC leaks all the time, you’ve probably heard for many years now that there’s an open world mode in the works which leakers hype up before every release. Well, this year, that mode is finally coming for real! Known as “The Grounds”, this open world mode will add more interactivity to the game outside the pitch and might be used for Career Mode or hopefully even Pro Clubs.
But the biggest and by far most exciting news, especially for those that grew up playing FIFA in the 2010s, is that Alex Hunter is finally making his return! There likely won’t be a whole new cinematic campaign like the Journey from FIFA 17-19, but the character himself will be a part of the open world experience in FC 27.
Whether we play as him or if he’s just an NPC we can meet isn’t clear yet, but the young star from EA’s FIFA campaigns is finally coming back. That’s still a long time away though, and we still have a few more months of FC 26 before then. So instead of waiting for Alex Hunter, enjoy playing with the best cards right now by getting FC 26 players from LootBar.
New Players Currently Under Testing for FC 27!
Out of all the players currently being tested, the biggest name is likely none other than current Manchester United coach and midfield legend Michael Carrick. He’s won all there is to win with Man United, and spent years at the club. With him now being confirmed as the club’s permanent manager after a very promising caretaker term, what better time to add him to the game than now? At least, that might be EA’s way of thinking about it, which is why he’s one of the players being tested for FC 27.
Another big name that Brazilian players especially will be happy to hear is Hulk. Anyone that’s used his old FIFA cards will be so excited for this one, because he was a monster around FIFA 12-15. Now that evolutions are in the game too, you can give him the one thing he always lacked, which was pace. If he makes it past testing and comes to FC 27, Hulk will easily be one of the most popular new names added.
Perhaps the most fun thing about all these players EA are testing is that they’re not huge legends. There are some really fun wildcard picks that would be fun to use and evolve, like Marouane Fellaini. He especially has a good chance of making it beyond testing and to the final game since he’s already in FC Mobile as a Hero. One other really surprising pick is Adebayo Akinfenwa, the man known for always having near 99 strength on his cards.
Despite never reaching the heights his talent suggested, Alexander Pato is also being tested. Along with him, two other old Serie A stars, Kostas Manolas and Fredy Guarin could make it to FC 27 as well. Mario Balotelli is another big name under testing, and it’s safe to say he’ll easily be one of the most loved additions if he makes the cut.
Dortmund fans will love to hear that Jakub Błaszczykowski is currently being tested too. He was a big star for the club, playing over 250 games and spending nearly 10 years. Now these last few players weren’t the best to ever do it, but there’s no doubt you’ve heard of them any time “streets won’t forget” conversations come up. Starting with Adel Taraabt himself, who lit England up and singlehandedly brought QPR to the Premier League in 2011.
André Schürrle and Ben Arfa are two others being tested for FC 27 that fit the same billing as Taraabt. Lastly, there’s no doubt you’ve heard his name before, because his skill move has been one of the best things in FIFA/FC for years. Aiden McGeady, inventor of the McGeady Spin, is also being tested for FC 27. A good chunk of these players wouldn’t be considered Icons or even Heroes, but still hold a special place in football fans’ hearts. EA might add a third type of legend apart from Icons and Heroes to make them fit in, but that remains to be seen for now.
Not Every Tested Player Will Make it to FC 27
Just because EA is currently testing and considering these players doesn’t mean 100% for certain that they’ll actually be added. Dozens of players get leaked every year, but not all of them make the cut. Most of the players we mentioned above probably won’t be in FC 27 either, but for now they’re being tested and have a good chance regardless.
Evos make these types of cards really exciting, since a lot of these players won’t be high-rated since they arguably aren’t Icon or even Hero level. You could turn them into club legends from the start, so hopefully EA adds most of them if not all of them. And for now, while we wait to see what happens next, you can enjoy the FC 26 players we have right now by getting any of them from LootBar!
Conclusion
FC 27 looks like it’s bringing some positive QoL changes and new features for players outside of the usual football on the pitch. There’s no telling if gameplay will be any better, since EA aren’t changing the Frostbite engine for FC 27. But, hopefully they balance things out so they feel more fair at least. As for now, you can buy FC 26 coins from LootBar to make FC 26 more enjoyable by using the best TOTS cards!
