What Is Divergent Universe: Arcadian Chronicles?
Divergent Universe: Arcadian Chronicles is the current major Divergent Universe period. It launched in Version 4.1 and unlocks after clearing Simulated Universe: World 3, with early access also available through Finality’s Vision.
The goal is still to complete Ordinary or Cyclical Extrapolation runs, collect temporary upgrades, defeat bosses, and improve long-term progression. The big difference is how each run develops. Domains are now handled through a card-like deck, while a Supplicant’s Mask affects both exploration and combat.
Version 4.5 expanded Arcadian Chronicles with new Masks, Equations, Curios, Weighted Curios, Occurrences, additional Synchronicity rewards, new Stable Computing Array challenges, Threshold Protocol 9, and Astronomical Division X10.
How the New Domain Deck System Works
At the beginning of an extrapolation, you receive a deck containing the Domains that can appear. Before moving forward, several Domain cards are drawn and you choose which one to enter.
After a Domain is selected, it normally enters the discard pile. When the draw pile is depleted, the discarded cards are shuffled back into the deck. Domains can also gain levels, while Beacons add extra effects.
Mask abilities and Miracles can upgrade Domains, add Beacons, create cards, delete unwanted cards, or change one Domain type into another. The key is to choose Domains based on what your build and Mask need, not only the immediate reward.
Supplicant’s Masks, Wishpower and Highlights
The Mask system is the defining mechanic of Arcadian Chronicles. You select one Supplicant’s Mask at the start of a run, and it normally cannot be changed afterward.
Each Mask has a passive Mask Effect and its own way of earning Wishpower. Wishpower levels the Mask, and every level improves the run while letting you choose Miracles.
In combat, Masks interact with Highlights. As allies use abilities and action value passes, Highlight Charge builds. At 100%, Highlight triggers, causing the attached character to immediately take action and receive a large damage boost.
Mask levels create major power spikes. At Level 4, Highlight can also activate the character’s Ultimate. Levels 8, 12, and 16 add extra actions, while Level 20 adds additional True DMG. This makes Mask leveling a major priority in difficult runs.
Which Masks Should You Use?
Several Masks are available, with more added through later updates. Some of the easiest styles to understand are:
Gladiator Mask rewards repeated battles and can make items free in later Store Domains.
Camera Mask favors Occurrence, Aberration, and Reward Domains.
Fortune Cat Mask focuses on Cosmic Fragments, shopping, and Wealth Domains.
Chariot Mask excels in Combat and Elite Domains, triggering an Instant Kill effect at the start of battle before boosting the level of other Domain types on the following draw.
Mechatron Mask manipulates Domain draws and can trigger powerful Fusion results.
Cringe Mask deletes Domains and refines the deck.
Horse Mask rewards stacking Beacons.
“Two” Masks grants extra level-up rewards but requires more Wishpower.
- Slipshod Mask randomizes part of your Domain deck every few Domains while preserving their levels and Beacon counts, with a chance to gain an additional level or Beacon.
- Snow Owl Mask – Focuses on Recruitment and Optimization. Recruitment adds a new Domain to your deck, while Optimization removes a chosen Domain and boosts the level of the next Domain you recruit, making it excellent for carefully building and refining your deck.
- Gluttonous Mask – Revolves around the special Vault Domain. Deleting Domains increases the Vault’s level, and entering the Vault gives increasingly better rewards, making this Mask ideal for players who want to trade deck size for high-value loot.
- Trader Mask – Introduces Arcadia Coins, which can be bought and sold as their price changes throughout the run. The goal is to profit from price swings and convert that economy into large amounts of Cosmic Fragments.
- Wansui Mask – Focuses on Curios. You gain Wishpower by obtaining, damaging, repairing, or discarding Curios, and you also start with the exclusive Super Overlord Doll Box, which generates Cosmic Fragments whenever it goes through these Curio interactions.
- Idea King Mask – A high-randomness option that randomly transforms into another Mask at the start of the run. In exchange, you also gain an additional exclusive Grand Miracle, making it a flexible but unpredictable choice.
There is no universal best Mask. Gladiator is simple for a first clear, Fortune Cat is strong for economy-focused runs, and Camera works well when your route favors non-combat Domains.
Miracles and Grand Miracles
Every time your Mask levels up, you can choose a Miracle. Miracles can strengthen combat, generate resources, modify the deck, upgrade Domains, add Beacons, or help complete Equations.
Grand Miracles are stronger. At Threshold Protocol 5 or higher, one can be offered at the beginning of the First Plane, with more appearing at Mask Levels 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20.
Prioritize synergy over rarity. A Domain or Beacon effect that directly supports your Mask can be more useful than an impressive option that does not help your route.
Blessings, Equations, Curios and Weighted Curios
Blessings and Equations remain the center of your combat build. Equations activate after you collect the required Blessings from their listed Paths, so spreading your picks across too many Paths can leave several Equations incomplete.
Commit to a clear damage plan early. If your team relies on Follow-Up ATKs, DoT, Break, Ultimates, summons, or another mechanic, prioritize Equations and Blessings that reinforce it.
Curios provide utility or special run effects, while Weighted Curios can strongly improve particular archetypes. Version 4.5 also added new options and a Type and Path filter for Weighted Curios.
Moonlit Tales, Rewards and Progression
Completing an extrapolation grants Cartridges, which are used to activate Moonlit Tales. These provide additional buffs and unlock Secrets.
You should also progress Synchronicity Level, Gallery of Possibilities, Stable Computing Array, Inspiration Circuit, and Probability Museum. Arcadian Chronicles originally introduced a reward pool containing up to 3,500 Stellar Jade alongside progression materials, while later updates expanded Synchronicity rewards and Stable Computing Array objectives.
From Version 4.2 onward, weekly point rewards were consolidated, so Divergent Universe can contribute toward the shared weekly progression system.
Threshold Protocol and Astronomical Division
Ordinary Extrapolation is where you clear difficulties, collect first-time rewards, and learn the new mechanics.
After clearing Difficulty V, higher challenges open through Threshold Protocol and Astronomical Division. These modes increase enemy stats and add restrictions, while higher Protocol levels can make Equation expansion and Mask leveling more demanding.
Version 4.5 raises the highest Astronomical Division to X10, “Monarch of Myriad Machines,” and adds Threshold Protocol 9. At these levels, a complete Equation setup and efficient Mask progression matter far more than simply bringing a strong standard team.
Best Tips for Divergent Universe Arcadian Chronicles
Choose a Mask that matches the route you want to play. Build toward one or two important Equations instead of collecting unrelated Blessings. Treat Domain cards as an actual deck by removing weak options, upgrading valuable Domains, and using Beacons deliberately.
Level your Mask aggressively because Highlights become much stronger at major thresholds. Also use Store, Wealth, Reward, and Forge Domains strategically instead of defaulting to combat every time.
Finally, keep a strong completed run as a Save File. Divergent Universe Save Files can be used for Planar Ornament Extraction, letting you repeatedly challenge bosses to farm Planar Ornaments without rebuilding the entire run.
