Brawl Stars Bolt Basic Info
Bolt is an Epic rarity Brawler who is joining the battlefield as the 104th Brawler in the game. Being a tank class brawler, Bolt comes with high health, variable damage output and movement speed. One of his drawbacks is that the reloading speed is quite slow. Aside from this, his kick allows him to turn into a rolling ball that grants him higher movement speed and bonus damage when hitting an enemy. By Appearance, he resembles the cannonball alien from the famous series called "Ben 10". Brawl Stars Bolt Skills and Abilities
Traits
Bolt has two unique traits that plays an important role in his mechanics:
- Move: Whenever Bolt moves, it charges his Super which means that being stationary is not an option for Bolt.
- Speed: Bolt's base movement speed is quite slow, but as he moves, his movement speed gradually increases. To reach top speed, Bolt needs to travel 8 tiles.
Attack
Bolt's Attack is called "Battle Bumper", where he starts rolling when the light bar turns blue. One can even deal damage by rolling onto the targets. This damage is proportional to the speed of Bolt which means the higher the speed, the higher the damage. Another important thing to note is that Bolt has two ammo slots and these attacks can be used to charge his light bar. This light bar empties if Bolt stops at any moment.
Super
Bolt's Super is called "Overdrive", where he goes into overdrive mode, gaining a significant movement speed boost and a 40% damage reduction shield. He also leaves behind a trial of lightning that lasts for 4 seconds and any enemy who touches it will recieve a burn effect for 4 seconds.
Brawl Stars Bolt Best Build
Gadgets
Here are the Gadget options for Bolt:
| Gadget Name | Description | Cooldown | Appearance |
| Oil Change | Using this gadget, Bolt instantly gains a shield around 2000-4000 which depends on his current speed. The shield decays for 5% health every 0.5 seconds until fully destroyed. | 15 seconds | |
| Bouncy Ball | Using this gadget, Bolt can jump a short direction toward a target and deal a decent damage in the area where he lands. | 20 seconds |
For the gadget, the "Oil Change" is a great gadget to dive into the enemies when your Star Power ends. The "Bouncy Ball" gives you an escape option using that short jump.
Star Powers
Here are the Star Powers options for Bolt:
| Gadget Name | Description | Appearance |
| Toss Up | Bolt will knock the enemies upwards when hitting anyone at full speed. | |
| Unstoppaball | Bolt becomes immune to any crow control effects and gains 15% top speed while using Super. |
For the star powers, the "Toss Up" is suited for more Crow Control heavy lineup or playstyle, whereas the "Unstoppaball" is suited for diving or frontlining roles.
Gears
For the gear, the damage and the cooldown gears will be the best for Bolt's kit. Considering his useful gadgets, the cooldown will help you spam those gadgets more and the extra chunk of damage from the damage gear will help you dish out more DPS.
How to Play Bolt Better in Brawl Stars
Here are some tips and strategies to learn and follow while playing as Bolt:
- Bolt's main attack is his frontal charge and, unlike most tanks which struggle to close in, Bolt can easily close the distance between his targets in an instant. This makes him a threat for sharpshooters or low hp brawlers.
- Using the obstacles and bushes in the map, one can easily make use of Bolt's ability to ambush enemies.
- Even though Bolt is a tank, he can be easily defeated if surrounded by a group of enemies. Pairing him up with brawlers like Poco, Byron or Sandy will provide the much needed team support for Bolt to excel.
- Don't just use the Super as a fight initiator; it can also be useful as an escape tool.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Bolt introduces a distinct tank playstyle that emphasizes mobility, pressure, and surprise. His kit can be used to apply pressure to grouped-up enemies and to serve as a frontline that can irritate most sharpshooter brawlers.
