Similar to a lot of gacha RPGs nowadays, Arknights: Endfield has implemented a pity system, ensuring that players will at least eventually acquire their desired rare characters and weapons. Mastering these mechanics would help you make more informed pulls and get the most bang for your buck with premium currency.
Arknights: Endfield deviates from the traditional pity system by having not only an 80-pull 6-star pity, but also an independent 120-pull featured character guarantee, where the two mechanics work synergistically towards guaranteeing pulls of newer operators, but with different conditions and carry-over systems. Understanding how to manage the various counter resets for both of them and how they differ would inform you when you should pull and when you should stop.

How the Character Banner Pity Works
Character banners feature two independent protection systems. The first is the standard 6-star pity, while the second guarantees the featured character if luck isn't on your side.
The 80-Pull 6-Star Pity
Every character banner guarantees a 6-star Operator within 80 pulls. Before reaching hard pity, the game introduces a soft pity mechanic that begins at 65 pulls. Once you pass this point, the chance of obtaining a 6-star gradually increases with each additional pull until one is guaranteed at the 80th pull.
When you obtain a 6-star Operator through this system, there is a 50% chance that it will be the featured rate-up character. If you lose this 50/50, you will instead receive another standard 6-star Operator from the available pool.
An important detail is that losing the 50/50 does not guarantee the featured character on your next 6-star. Instead, the game relies on a separate guarantee system that activates at 120 pulls.
Every 10 Pulls Guarantees a 5-Star or Higher.
In addition to the 6-star pity, every ten pulls guarantees at least one 5-star or higher Operator. This helps players steadily expand their roster while working toward the higher rarity pity counters.
Although obtaining a 5-star does not affect your 6-star pity progress, it provides additional value throughout the summoning process.
Understanding the 120-Pull Featured Character Guarantee
The most important safety net in Arknights: Endfield is the 120-pull guarantee.
If you have not obtained the featured rate-up character after 119 pulls on the banner, the 120th pull is guaranteed to be the featured 6-star Operator.
This system exists independently of the normal 80-pull pity. Even if you obtain multiple off-banner 6-star Operators before reaching 120 pulls, the guarantee remains active until you finally receive the featured character.
Saving up to hit the 120 pull guarantee is the optimal strategy before pulling on a limited banner if you intend to go for the rate-up Operator. The guarantee on banners resets once a banner leaves, so not making it to 120 could mean you neither get the limited Operator nor make any progress towards hitting the guarantee on the next banner.
Does Pity Carry Over Between Banners?
Perhaps the most asked question regarding a new banner release is "Does pity reset on the new banner?" The answer is that it depends on which pity system.
The 80-Pull Counter Carries Over.
The pity on a regular 6-star counter is shared across banners for two consecutive character banners. This means if you were to only pull 50 times on the banner at hand before stopping and then pulling on the following character banner, those 50 pulls would still apply.
The same concept applies if you are in the 6-star soft pity of the current banner and your chances of getting a 6-star are higher than 65 pulls; it will remain higher for the next available banner.
The 120-Pull Guarantee Does Not Carry Over.
The featured character guarantee works differently.
The separate 120-pull guarantee resets completely whenever the current banner ends. Any progress toward this guarantee is lost if you do not reach the featured character before the banner expires.
Therefore, players must make sure that they have enough resources to acquire at least 120 pulls before pulling the banner.
How the Arsenal Weapon Banner Works
Arknights: Endfield also includes dedicated Arsenal banners for weapons, featuring a different pity structure from character banners.
Unlike character banners, Arsenal banners can only be pulled using 10-pull summons, meaning individual pulls are unavailable.
The base probability of obtaining a 6-star weapon is 4%, making weapons slightly more accessible than many character banners.
If you do not receive a 6-star weapon within the first 30 pulls, your next 10-pull guarantees one.
In addition, players are guaranteed to obtain the featured rate-up weapon within 80 pulls, or eight 10-pull summons.
Unlike the character banner's standard pity, weapon banner pity does not carry over once the Arsenal banner ends.
Should You Save or Spend Your Pulls?
Understanding how this works will enable you to make better decisions about your long-term pulls as opposed to throwing your currency away on an impulse buy. If you only aim to pull top-tier 6-star Operators, using the carry-over pity of 80 to roll your next guaranteed 6-star over multiple banners will probably serve you well. However, if you’re trying to pull one specific featured Operator, it’s advisable to ensure you have enough currency to cover the entire 120-pull pity before pulling because the protection will reset after the banner ends.
Conclusion
Arknights: Endfield features a mix of random and sure-fire methods to guarantee acquiring specific operators or weapons: the standard 80-pull 6-star pity, the 120-pull rate-up character guarantee, and an Arsenal weapon banner pity. In addition to the normal 6-star pity that refreshes over subsequent character banners, all rate-up character pity as well as the weapon banner pity will reset when a new banner ends. Knowing which pities carry over to the next and which don't will significantly impact how you plan out your pulls, prevent you from wasting precious currency, and guide you on whether to summon or save. Whether you are an F2P managing resources frugally or are saving up for a highly anticipated banner, having a clear pulling strategy is paramount.
