Zoroark ex Card - An Overview

Zoroark ex

Zoroark ex in Pokémon TCG Pocket is indeed one of the best cards you can get from the Pulsing Aura expansion. This Dark Pokémon is durable enough to withstand damage with its 150 HP. It’s a Stage 1 Pokémon that requires Zorua to evolve.

This card has a 4-diamond rarity, and since it’s a Dark-type Pokémon, it is naturally weak to Grass. If you want to get more durable Pokémon like this, Lootbar can always help you out.

As for the abilities, Zoroark ex only has one of them. Its ability is called Brutal Bash, a brutal offensive skill that can unleash 30x damage. Notice the “x” here? This damage will be multiplied for each of your Dark-type benched Pokémon. It basically carries the same skill as Pikachu ex, with only differences in the Pokémon type.

Since the damage will increase following the number of your benched Pokémon, you’ll need to carry some Dark Pokémon in your deck. It would be better if these Pokémon could also provide benefits for your Zoroark ex.

How to Get Zoroark ex Card

Zoroark ex card

Getting a Zoroark ex card is not that hard. You can get a chance to pull one from the Mega Lucario Pack in the latest Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion, Pulsing Aura. Do note that since it has 4-diamond-rarity, getting it may require some tries.

If your luck is not dependable, there are some other ways to obtain Zoroark ex in this game. The first alternative is to obtain it through crafting. Zoroark ex can be crafted for 500 Pack Points.

You’ll need to open more packs from this expansion to get more points. Another way to get Zoroark ex is from trading it for 5,000 Shinedust, which is fair since it’s a rare card.

Best Zoroark ex Decks

Mega Absol ex

Since this card is all offensive, it’s always better to complement it. Whether it’s a second attacker or support, these types of Pokémon can work beautifully with Zoroark ex. Looking at a lot of Pokémon combinations, we think it would be much better to pair Zoroark ex with Mega Absol ex.

Zoroark ex and Mega Absol ex Deck

Combining Zoroark ex and Mega Absol ex brings a lot of benefits. First, Zoroark ex can be a really strong main attacker. Its ability is second to none, especially when you fill up your bench with Dark Pokémon.

Another reason is that Zoroark ex is so easy to evolve. Zorua can basically use its Ascension to turn itself into Zoroark ex without much effort.

Mega Absol ex can be a wonderful second attacker here. Its ability, Darkness Claw, only requires 2 Dark Energy to deal 80 damage. So easy and instant, compared to other Pokémon. However, since it’s a Mega Evolution Pokémon, the enemy will win immediately if you lose Mega Absol ex.

Zoroark ex highly depends on the number of benched Pokémon. With fewer Pokémon, Zoroark ex will deal less damage as well, so better keep that in mind.

The Best Way to Use Zoroark ex Decks

Mega Absol ex card

The best thing about Zoroark ex is that it’s so easy to evolve. Unlike the usual ex Pokémon, its basic Pokémon, Zorua, can basically evolve itself using its skill.

This basically means that you can evolve it into Zoroark ex even without having the card in your hand. Doing so would easily take the enemy off guard, especially when you already have two Dark Energy attached.

After immediately evolving Zoroark ex, you can use it to be your early game attacker while stacking the benched Pokémon. Although the damage is not that serious, at least it’s still useful to make some time to evolve your secondary attacker.

You may pick some Pokemon like Mega Absol ex. After completing the whole bench, switch to Zoroark ex again and unleash that 90 damage you’ve been waiting for.

With no Energy reduction whatsoever, you can basically spam the skill over and over again. This amount of damage can take any ex Pokémon in 2 hits and Mega Evolution ex Pokémon in 2-3 hits.

Aside from Mega Absol ex, you may also use Bombardier. Using its ability, you can have reduced retreat cost for Dark Energy Pokémon.

Countering Zoroark ex decks

Meowscarada

Since Zoroark ex can be so fast to be active on the field, how can we counter it? The answer is to use your best Grass Pokémon that can deal serious damage to it. Because Zoroark ex can deal damage as early as possible, bring on the most durable Grass Pokémon you have to withstand it.

Some recommendations of Grass Pokémon you can use are Meowscarada ex and Mega Sceptile ex. With the damage boost, you can defeat Zoroark ex in no time. If you don’t have these Pokémon yet, better pull some with the help from Lootbar.

Additionally, you may need to bring a lot of HP-restoring items, like Potions and Trainers who have restorative abilities. Having them around is such a great help to counter the damage dealt by Zoroark ex.

You may also get Pokémon with healing skills, like Arbolive, to increase your survivability against Zoroark ex. Add some Potions as well for the quick healing

Conclusion

Zoroark ex is indeed a worthy card to obtain from the Pulsing Aura of Pokémon TCG Pocket. With Zoroark ex decks, you may increase your chance of winning battles with its consistently high damage.

So, if you don’t have the card yet, we highly recommend making a Pokémon TCG Pocket top up and get all the necessary cards to complete the deck. Try your best good luck and become the best trainer!
