7DS Origin Pets: Finding the Quest
In order to unlock this new mechanic, players will have to find and complete a quest tied to it. The quest you’re looking after is How to Make Friends, given by Ashu. You can easily find this quest given on your Main Story progress.
If you somehow miss him, go to the Werebear Camp and find the nearest quest market. There you may find them accompanied by some pets. This quest is optional, so it’s not a part of the main storyline of the 7DS Origins game.
Monster Capturing Quest in 7DS Origin
After the quest is accepted, Ashu will give you your first task right away. It’s rather simple; all you need to do is capture the Baby Giant Bird that’s right beside you. At this moment, you’ll be given an in-game explanation of how the pet-capturing mechanism works.
To put it simply, you’ll need to have a special potion, aim it at the target, and press the action button to capture it. Feels familiar?
Since it’s your first capture, the rate will always be 100%. All thanks to Ashu’s Potion of Charm. After finishing this task, you’ll need to continue your journey to craft the Faint Potion of Charm.
Ashu will give you the materials so that you can craft the item right away. Craft the potion and put it in the Quick Slot for better access. Do note that if you fail to throw the item, the potion’s gone for good.
Now, Ashu will ask you to capture a Dusk Bison, which is nearby. Head to the location and start your real pet-capturing practice.
To make capturing easier, you can decrease the target’s HP until it’s near critical. Then, throw the potion and capture the pet. The capturable monster will have the purple cloud around it and the percentage above it, so pay attention to these signs for easier capturing.
You can craft the same potion again and again if you failed on your first try. Don’t worry, the Dusk Bisons will be there.
Now that you have Dusk Bison, go back to Ashu to complete the quest. Once captured, the monsters will be added automatically to your pet roster. They can be your companion that you can show off to others have extra abilities to make your journey even easier.
The Capturing Potions
Just like we have explained, instead of using balls, you use potions to capture the monsters. There are four types of potions:

High-purity Potion of Charm
Concentrated Potion of Charm
Radiant Potion of Charm

Spawning Pets
Once you’ve successfully captured a monster, it will be added to the roster. It will also fill the Special Codex for pets, which may give you some rewards after you reach certain milestones.
However, you still need to equip them manually to spawn them. There are three types of pets depending on their functionality:

Summon
Each of these categories has its own slot in the Pet menu. So, you don’t have to switch them every now and then for different purposes.
